Chronological Reading Plan for May 24, 1 Chron 23-25

Today's readings are 1 Chronicles 23-25. Tomorrow's are Psalms 131, 138, 139, 143-145.
In these chapters, David begins making preparations for the Temple to be built and the priesthood to continue after his death.
Notice the high degree of detail and the specific responsibilities. God's affairs in the world are done in order and with great cooperation and harmony among His people and in harmony with His word. For things to function properly, everyone has a place, everyone has a job and everyone works with everyone else. This will eventually become a foundational value for the church. The unity of the church reflects our union woth Christ and His union with the Father.
Each of us has a role to play in the church. a gift to bring or a service to render. We are united in Him and are all a part of Him, making us a part of each other. The church is a closely knit community that is a reflection of God to a fallen world. When we bicker and quarrel, we not only become a poor representation of God to those aound us, we deny the oness of our union in Christ.
