Shepherd's Conference 2011 - Day 1

The beginning of what is shaping up to be another great conference! We arrived on campus early this morning (7 AM!) to get a few of our guys registered as walk-ins. Phil Johnson opened the day with a riveting message from 2 Tim 4:1-5 on defending the truth. Yummy lunch at noon. I'm always a little amazed at how quickly they manage to feed 4500 guys a hot meal.

Ron Scruggs joined us about mid-day, just before Tom Pennington delivered an excellent teaching on pride and humility. The we all went back to a Tex-Max diner for supper, another big hit, culinary-wise, unearthed by Ernest last year.

John MacArthur closed the evening session with a thought provoking message about the withering of the fig tree and Jesus clearing the temple. Both actions were a prophetical portrayal of the judgment to come. Truly fine!

Here are a few pictures of our guys! Scott was kind enough to get some great shots.

Darren and Todd get ready to head to the van this morning. That's Jim in the back getting some caffeine!

Breakfast on campus is always a treat!
