Prayer Summit and the Following Day

We had WBF's first-ever Prayer Summit last Saturday morning. Following a leading, my wife, Kelly, made most of the arrangements with help from Ron Scruggs in worship and Pastor Bob Hoke on sound and AV.

The sanctuary was arranged nicely and comfortably including special 'private' prayer areas decorated with Scripture, prayer shawls and other items placed to encourage and promote and attitude of prayer. Scripture passages were liberally scattered about the pews (some remain). More Scripture passages were on the overhead screen and worship music played softly in the background for the duration of the prayer time.

A small group of folks committed themselves to fasting from Friday afternoon and through the prayer time in the morning.

All in all, about 30 people joined us for almost three hours of prayer, testimony, Scripture reading, meditation and worship.

It was awesome!

The three hours passed quickly with everyone participating. The prayer, corporate and private, was sweet. The fellowship and unity was moving and tender. The worship.....ah yes, the worship.....was amazing.

I believe this Prayer summit had a profound impact on the service the following day. The Sunday morning service was sweet and exciting as well. I had a sense that the message I had been given was appropriate, anointed and empowered, not by me but by God and His presence.

I get so excited about all this. When it happens and God is in it, we all learn together, we all move forward together and we all are drawn unto Him.

Here are some photos (taken by our own Scott Ferrell) of the Sunday morning service:

I am looking forward to the next Prayer Summit. I believe this type of corporate prayer, along with the individual prayers of all of our prayer warriors, is crucial to our health and well being as we move forward.

Prasie God for what He is doing among us!
