Wrap Up From Chattanooga

Well, I've not had access top the internet for the last few days as I visited with my Mom in Ohio. So this entry is to catch up on my last day at the Precepts Training Classes in Tennessee.

Saturday was the final day of the "Planning For and Leading A Discussion" seminar. We had much talk about the methods of approaching delicate subjects, gently leading the class to a firm Biblical conclusion and a number of other subjects.

When we got out at about 4:30 or so, I was literally exhausted and spent. I went back to my room to decompress and plan for the next day. I was in bed and asleep by 9:30.

O got up the next morning and attended the church service at "Woodland Park Baptist Church", a church nearby to the Precepts Ministries campus that is attended by many of the Precepts folks. This church is really BIG! It's really big and it's really unfinished! It's a church under construction where they have been allowed to meet int he unfinished part. Did I tell you it was BIG?...the part we met in was big enough to hold a thousand people and it's not the main portion of the church.

They have been without a pastor for over a year and one of their Elders brought the Word. He did a great job and used the inductive method we had been studying all week long. I was surprised how easy it was to recognize once I knew what it was. This was an excellent message, well presented and well thought out.

It was a great service with worship we would have been very comfortable with. The Word was brought in power and authority and I was blessed to be there as a visitor. I found myself wondering when the last time I just 'went to church was'. I think it was down on Topsail Island.

Right after the service, I headed up the road to Ohio, an 11 hour drive. The scenery was spectacular all the way. Driving through the Smokie Mountains was beautiful and then West Virginia was even more striking! I really enjoyed the drive. The pictures I've posted are from along the way.
