Samantha Paige's First Night at Home

We brought Samantha Paige home from the hospital yesterday, right after lunch. She was getting tired of being in the same room all the time and said, "Waa!", which is baby language for, "There must be more than this!"

Before leaving the hospital, one of the world's foremost pediatricians examined her. After a very careful inspection, Dr. J Allen Kuvakas declared her to be "Nearly perfect in every way! Beautiful, intelligent, perceptive and articulate. She must have had great grandparents!"
Understandably, the travel exhausted her, this being the longest trip she has ever taken in her entire life. And that was just to get to the font door of the hospital! She then was put into a 'car' and 'drove' to her new 'home'.
All of this being brand new experiences for her, she was somewhat overwhelmed and said "Waaaa!" (baby language for "Wow!").
She wanted to 'take a short nap' ("Waaaaa!") after exploring her new home. She has a voracious appetite and, all in all, is a fairly quiet baby. We all weathered the first night pretty well with Ruth and Kelly tending to the needs of the baby every few hours and Todd and I sleeping for them so that all would not be exhausted in the morning.
Watching Ruth and Todd hover over her, working together and being considerate of each other has been a blessing in very way. Todd is going to be a great father. He sensitive, caring and involved in everything (well...almost everything). Ruth is a magnificent Mom. Their love for each other and their love for the gift they have been given in Samantha Paige goes far beyond anything we could have taught them. It comes from the Father. It pours out from His heart, through theirs and into Samantha Paige. I praise God continuously for His presence in this home!
I will be heading back tomorrow. Kelly has yet to decide what she's going to do. She may stay a few more days to help Ruth.
