Around Town

Things are changing pretty fast in Warrenton. Every time a new building goes up or road is built, I struggle to remember what it looked liked before it changed.

Here's some of the new sights around town:

The new Warrenton Toyota is being built right next to the IHOP

Next to the new location for Warrenton Toyota will be this new Denny's and a new convenience store/gas station (like we don't have enough of either!)

Remember the 'old' Hampton Inn?

The new location for OTAC will be on Walker Drive, near Meetze

They finally tore down that old, dumpy Exxon at the corner of 29 and 17. It must have been nearly 6 or 7 years old!

Progress is being made on the new Yen Cheng which it seems has been under construction since before John Marshall was a babe.

All of this is an indication of how fast this community is growing. I know some folks are not in favor of a lot of new people moving into the area. Whether we are in favor or not, they are coming! Our job as a church and as disciples of Christ is to welcome them, reach out to them and minister to them making them disciples as well. This gets me excited and I find myself anticipating our role in the new community that is forming. Let's get ready for them!
John 4:
35 “Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look on the fields, that they are white for harvest.
36 “Already he who reaps is receiving wages and is gathering fruit for life eternal; so that he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together.
