Chronological Reading Plan for April 23, Psalms 43, 44, 45, 49, 84, 85, 87

Today's readings are Psalms 43, 44, 45, 49, 84, 85, 87. Tomorrow's are 1 Chron 3-5. 

Today's Psalms are all ascribed to the Sons of Korah, Levites and descendants of Kohath, who challenged Aaron's priestly position in Numbers 16 with disastrous results.  By the time 1 Chronicles is written, the Korahites have been relegated to gatekeepers and bakers in the Temple. Some of their history rises up on these Psalms. Their devotion and worship, in spite of things having turned out different than they expected, is an encouragement and a fine example.
