The Importance of Maintenance ("Ruins")
I have a friend some of you may know, Matt Walker. He and his wife Renee, originally from Warrenton, are serving in a youth program in Hershey, Pa after moving up here from Florida. Matt and I worked together in the car business for about a year and became fast friends. I was thrilled when he went into full time ministry. He's a good and godly man and I have great respect for him. Matt has a great blog, "Matt-ers", that chronicles God's leading in their lives and His ministry to and through them.
Today's posting was poignant and provocative. Here's an excerpt:
The difference between 2 similarly constructed buildings with good foundations and well chosen materials is maintenance. One structure can be abandoned and become dilapidated in no time. The other can be inspected, pointed up, painted, repaired, treated against rot, insect, age and weather.
He applies this lesson right to his relationship with Renee and moves on toward our relationship with our Father in heaven. You can read the rest of the article here.
