Keramoti, Greece!
This is where we'll be staying in Greece. God has blessed us so mightily as we've watched His hand move in putting out trip together.
There's a great story behind this condo.
We had been looking for a place in Greece for about three months. We wanted to be near the water but located in a place that would allow us to freely move around the country and see the Biblical sites we want to see. It was beginning to look like we were going to have to consider an apartment in the middle of Athens, small and affordable but not as quiet and restful as we had hoped for.
Julian Gowen, the owner of Bellvue Hotel in Keramoti was raised in Bulgaria under a Communist regime, in a Christian home. When he heard of our sabbatical, we began to exchange emails. His place is beautiful but was way beyond reach for our limited budget. God moved on his heart and he sent a note saying, "I want to be part of your trip here." He then offered us a place for "whatever our budget will allow".
What a blessing! Julian has been most helpful in arranging details for us. He knows where we want to go and has been giving us travel tips on getting to, traveling around in and staying in Greece.
We are pumped! Here are some pics Julian sent us. Let's keep this man and his business lifted up in prayer.
Ahhhh...thank you for that little trip to Greece. So excited, as I have said before, for this wonderful opportunity for you and Kelly. Don't you just love it....when God makes it so clear that He is arranging your plans, He is ordering your steps. It's going to be a GREAT trip! : )

OK. So, I'm geographically challenged when it comes to Greece. Keramoti is actually due West of Thessaloniki.
ReplyDeleteI stumbled across your blog. I live on Thassos and thought to let you know about http://www.thassos-christian-fellowship.com/
ReplyDeleteWhenever you're in Greece, look them up. The fellowship group is just across the water from Keramoti on Thassos :)
