An Obituary We're All Happy to Read (Well, most of us, anyway)
It was announced in Northern Virgina today, by what few remaining fans and close associates there were, that the Winter of 2009/2010 had (some say, "Finally!") passed on. After an early rise to recognition and amid heavy media scrutiny and support, it appeared as though Winter would, "Go on forever..." as some who were fond of it once claimed. At the end of a very long and contentious battle for control over the region, winter finally succumbed to a heavy onslaught of incurable blue skies and sunshine. Noticeably absent from the short observation of its passing was an indifferent public, many wearied by the relentless cold and miserable snow winter insisted on foisting upon them, leaving most eagerly anticipating that this was truly and mercifully the end. Winter leaves behind small patches of lingering snow (right), thought to be in its final stages as well. Ironically, after all the attention and adoration it experienced at its arrival, few will mourn its passing.
What follows is evidence of Winter's passing. Disclaimer: some may find this grisly to view. Some may welcome it....you'll have to decide for yourself. (Music, "Creation Sings The Father" by the Gettys:
OK...so maybe we don't see a lot of green here....but I'm still holding on to the promise of a beautiful day with NO snow or ice!
