God answers prayer! The Body of Christ works!

Dick and Carol Zobel ran into some car trouble a short while ago. They began praying for a resolution to their transportation problem and asked the congregation to join in on their prayers. Not too long afterwards, a couple walked into my office and asked if they could donate a vehicle to the Zobels. It was a late model SUV and it was beautiful! Carol came home yesterday to find this in her driveway, a gift from the Lord!


But wait! There's more!

After the back to back torrential downpours last week, we ended up with standing water in our Fellowship Hall again. That's a big problem but an even bigger problem is the odor that permeates the entire church as a result of this water accumulating on our floor. Our usual carpet cleaning folks were unable to help us due to numerous flooded basements in the area and we were stuck with the prospect of having to cancel a number of activities and maybe even the service on Sunday morning.

We began to pray and, on Thursday, we got a call from a church member who had the equipment needed to clean up, deodorize and disinfect the Fellowship Hall. He even sent an employee over for the day to make sure everything was done properly.

This, brothers and sisters, is what we've been talking about for weeks. The Body of Christ bringing their spiritual giftings to bear on the needs of the church. As a result of this type of sacrificial giving, the Body is strengthened and edified, ministry goes forth and God is glorified.
