We're in Dertroit!

We had a great morning with Mom and a really good time together on the drive from Youngstown to Detroit.

I booked a room last year, on Priceline, and got a really low rate for the Marriott Renaissance Center (that's the trick with Priceline, know where you want to stay and book far in advance, we got our room for well under $100/day). This hotel is in the middle of downtown Detroit and is very luxurious having a Starbucks (of course), a number of restaurants, a great exercise facility, a huge food court and an auto museum all in the same place!

Well, after the great drive up here we got another great blessing. The hotel was booked solid and they upgraded our room to a larger king bed room on the concierge floor, the top floor of the hotel! We have a fantastic view of the area around Detroit AND we get free food and beverages in the concierge lounge!

That's the Elevated Train that runs around downtown Detroit. It comes right into the hotel and we will ride it to the show this evening. This is another blessing.....it's currently 22 degrees and windy here!
