New Songs From Our Worship Team!

It's becoming apparent to me that God is moving in the lives and hearts of our worship team members. Ron Scruggs has just agreed to come on staff as Worship Director. His giftings are obvious and Ron has been writing original worship songs for about a year now. They are, invariably, great lyrically and memorable melodically, honoring God and blessing us as a congregation.

What many may not know is that other giftings have been rising up as well. For those who attended today's service, you heard another original song done by Coy Ferrell during the offertory. It was fantastic song with fascinating lyrics. Coy has matured into a really good vocalist as well.

Bob Mayhugh has been inspired to write gospel songs and so Has Steve Aiello. I wrote in an earlier posting that my wife, Kelly has been writing too. She has a new home recording studio and is beginning to learn how to use it.

While I was in Alburquerque last week, she was home writing a new song. She sent me the completed product via email and I loaded it onto my Ipod before leaving my room Wednesday morning. When I heard it, I got excited about it and began to share it with some of the folks at the conference. They liked it too! It, like the other songs from members of the Worship team, is Christ centered and beautiful as well. This is a huge blessing to me as I feel it's important that our worship music focus on God's greatness and His glory instead of our feelings and our needs.

I'd like to post some of these songs here but I've yet to figure out how to do it. Maybe someone out there has some insight to posting an audio file on blogger.com.

I praise God for what He is doing, not just in Kelly's, Ron's, Steve's and Bob's lives, but in the life of WBF as well. Let's all press in and pray for God to have His way in our worship and in everything else we do as a body.
