Guest Blogger Kelly Kuvakas...

Dang...just a good day talking with God! Sorry, if I had a blog I'd just put this out there, but instead my dear friends must suffer at my hands...

I was cleaning the old studio, cutting and stacking boxes that had piled up when I was talking to God about "prayer during trials". How sweet the prayer life is at that point. I was thinking how each prayer is fashioned as a garment - perfectly in fashion at the moment. It may stay in fashion for more than a season, but it is perfectly suited for the time and it's just the right size! Talking about having the perfect wardrobe in your prayer closet!

I feel like I'm in a new season of prayer, but the lessons learned from the trials will not be forgotten. I have treasured turning temptations into prayers for other people's blessing. I love that He has had and will continue to have that ability to transform us by His love.

As you are tempted, stretched, or simply tired, can I encourage you to stretch into that garment in the prayer closet that looks wrong but is so very perfect: bless those who curse you. Remember we war against spiritual powers and principalities, not people. Pray without ceasing.

And remember God is fashioning a new season of garments for you too. It will be ready in perfect timing for the world to see.

Isaiah 61

The Year of the LORD's Favor

1 The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,
because the LORD has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
2 to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,

3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of gladness
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the LORD
for the display of his splendor.

  1. Kelly,
This is not the first time you mentioned not having your own blog. What are you waiting for?

  2. Ha! Actually, it's my opening line to my unsuspecting friends as I send my special delivery emails! (and now to John's unsuspecting friends!) Besides, who would read my blog...I'm such a goober! Most of my entries would be on body humor - really!
