Our Church

I spent some time with two other pastors this week both of whom have churches that have no permanent facility. This reminded me of how blessed we are to have this building so close to the middle of town and so close to being mortgage free. This week, it's been on my mind and in my heart how much God has blessed us and how He continues to do so.

Last night, I sat with the worship team as they worked on the two services we have this weekend. This is a group of people who work hard to be a blessing to the whole congregation. As I listened to them practice, I realized how many folks were working hard to do the same thing. We have dedicated and committed people everywhere in the church who are doing their best to share their gifts with us. You can see it everywhere from the gifts surrounding the Angel Tree, to the nursery, to Sunday School to the Youth Group (who went to the hospital to take gifts to the kids up there and Caroling at the Peelings last night), to the Children's Ministry, to the Deacons who take such good care of us, to our prayer warriors and more.

I was alone in the sanctuary this morning, just praising God and enjoying some quiet time. At times, I forget how beautiful our building is, how great His blessings are and how thankful I am for each heart He's placed here at WBF.

I was struck by the silence, by all the light streaming in the windows, falling on the decorations for the weekend. I was moved by the majesty and the awesome presence of the Holy Spirit, not just in this building......but in the church He's called to occupy it. I thought I would share what I saw with you:

The building was built in 1912

It was originally a Methodist church

We don' t have much of a foyer but it sure is beautiful

I often wonder about who Susie LeRoy Garrett was
