Our Christmas Services

We met tonight to begin planning the Christmas Eve Service. It will be at 6:00 this year and I'm really looking forward to it.

Carol Zobel and Kelly Stull (2 Angels Among Us) have already begun the decorating process, they do such a great job and the church always looks so beautiful! We'll light the sanctuary with candles again this year but I think we'll forgo handing out candles to everyone who comes in. With all the folks who show up, especially the little ones, there's too much possibility of an accident.

We'll actually have two services leading up to the Christmas Eve Service this year, all following a theme.

Next Sunday, the 16th, we're going to examine Joseph, Mary's husband. We don't know a lot about Joseph but we do know he was a godly man and a Hebrew. Joseph would have had an intimate knowledge of the Scriptures. This leads to some interesting insights on what it must have been like for him as he was a steward over the Baby Messiah. The title will be "Joseph Knew".

On the 23rd, we'll take a close look at Mary and what it must have been like for her as she carried the Baby and watched Him grow up. I'd like to pause and consider Mary's thoughts and the magnitude of her sacrifice as she realizes what her Son is called to do. The title for that one will be "Mary Knew".

Then, on Christmas Eve, we'll look at why the baby came and what He was called to do in "Jesus Knew". There will be a gospel presentation, some testimony and a lot of great carols. It won't be a long service, 45 mins to an hour at most.

Please begin praying now for these services. May God have His way with each of us and with everyone who joins us!
