Happy New Year!
Kelly and I spent a few hours in the sanctuary tonight, sharing communion with the folks who stopped by. We've had these open communions for a number of years now and they're always a precious time.
Tonight was particularly touching. The families who came in were sweet blessings, they always are. It's an honor to be able to share this special time of the year with those who stop in. I always feel privileged to be a part of their New Year's celebration.
In between visits, Kelly and I spent time just being still before the Lord. The candles were lit, the Christmas Tree was twinkling and the music was soft and worshipful. We took the opportunity to meditate and pray with each other. We have so much to be thankful for.
Being able to serve at WBF is a gift that was so far beyond our imagination six years ago that it seemed impossible. God has been so gracious to us and He has provided for us in such abundance that it is, at times, overwhelming. When we consider where we were and where we are now as a family, it's humbling to realize that it is only by God's hand that any of this could have happened. We see it as a miracle and a gift of God's grace.
Knowing all that is humbling. But it's also encouraging. It gets us excited thinking about what He will do as we go forward as a church. It's all in His hands and all according to His plan. Just like last year was. Just like next year will be.
Thanks for allowing us to be part of your lives. It's an honor that we do not take lightly. We deeply appreciate it and we love everyone of you. You remain constantly in our thoughts, in our hearts and in our prayers.
We pray that God will bless you and your families in this coming year with even greater blessings than He has given us. I can't think of a better prayer than to ask that He bestow upon each of you precious brothers and sisters the abundance of joy, peace and blessing He has given us in being allowed to serve you.
