Angels Among Us
Some of our ladies and their families got together last Tuesday evening to make Christmas ornaments. Marsha Melkonian (a pretty creative person in her own right) and the head of the Women's Ministry at WBF
said, the following day, "Thanks to all the ladies _ young and ... Hmmm ... mature who got together last night for food fun & fellowship & ornament making!"
Richard Bird who , along with his bride Diana, has been with us since last Spring, has designed a few holiday themed backgrounds for the PowerPoint slides I use on Sunday mornings. Richard recently retired from a career in graphic arts and web design. This was a blessing to me as I am inept at this sort of thing and have been searching for something like this for a number of years. Thanks, Richard!
This are just a few examples of what we have been learning in 1 Cor 12, we all have a gift or talent and God has given it to us to strengthen and edify our brothers and sisters in Christ. Whether it be something
miraculous God has done or is doing through us or something He has given us a unique capability to do, like coordinate a fellowship event or design a PPT background, when we all contribute, bringing our gifts and talents into the storehouse, then we are truly united and moving as one. I believe God will bless us as we examine ourselves and offer up, in His service, all He has given us for His glory.
Already, some folks are stepping forward and that is not only desperately needed but greatly appreciated. What is needed even more is for those folks who are attending church faithfully but are somehow convinced that they have little or nothing to offer.
Resist that deception of unworthiness! Rebuke the spirit that would tell you you don't have either the time or the talent to assume your God-given role in His church. God has uniquely equipped each one of us to minister and serve right where we are. Step forward and watch His blessings begin to flow in the life of the body of Christ and in your life as well.
But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. 1 Cor 12:7
