If This Is Tuesday, It Must Be.....

Women's Bible Study!

It's always such a great feeling to turn into the parking lot on these mornings and see it filled! Then, walking into the church is another rush as the smell of fresh brewed coffee wafts by along with the sounds of our ladies having a great time and enjoying each others' company.

Marsha Melkonian has been heading up the Women's ministry and has done a great job of picking out challenging and popular curriculum. This session, the women are studying Beth Moore's "The Patriarchs". Beth has proven to be a solid and dependable teacher of the Word and has presented a number of thought provoking and challenging series in the past. This one seems to be one of her best yet. As her web site describes it;

Encountering the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob
Taken primarily from Genesis, chapters 12–50, Beth provides fascinating details from the lives of the patriarchs. She explores important concepts such as blessing, covenant, and promise, and how they forever shaped the lives of Abraham and his descendants.
Through
The Patriarchs, women will discover God's pursuit of relationship and the unfolding of His earthly plan: how through one nation - and ultimately one man - all people on earth will be blessed.

If you can't make it on Tuesday mornings then you may want to consider the Wednesday Evening Women's Bible Study led by Carla Strong. Here's another great and growing group of ladies who get together for some serious study as well as some great fellowship. They meet at 7:00m PM and will be studying Joanna Weaver's " Having a Mary Heart In A Martha World". Joanna doesn't seem to have a web site but I found this info on her at the Random House Web Site;

Joanna Weaver was voted the Most Promising New Writer of 1997 at the Mount Herman Writer’s Conference. She has authored Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World and written for publications such as Focus on the Family, Home Life, Aspire, and The Evangel. A pastor’s wife for more than eighteen years, she and her husband have counseled many couples, both those approaching their wedding and those struggling in marriage. The Weavers live in Montana and have taught young married classes and spoken on the topic of marriage throughout the northwestern United States.

Here's what the site had to say about the book:
Joanna Weaver's popular book shows women how to blend intimacy with Jesus and service for Him.An invitation for every woman who feels she isn't godly enough...isn't loving enough...isn't doing enough. The life of a woman today isn't really all that different from that of Mary and Martha in the New Testament. Like Mary, you long to sit at the Lord's feet...but the daily demands of a busy world just won't leave you alone. Like Martha, you love Jesus and really want to serve him...yet you struggle with weariness, resentment, and feelings of inadequacy.Then comes Jesus, right into the midst of your busy Mary/Martha life-and he extends the same invitation he issued long ago to the two sisters of Bethany. Tenderly he invites you to choose "the better part"-a joyful life of "living-room" intimacy with him that flows naturally into "kitchen service" for him.How can you make that choice? With her fresh approach to the familiar Bible story and its creative, practical strategies, Joanna shows how all of us-Marys and Marthas alike-can draw closer to our Lord, deepening our devotion, strengthening our service, and doing both with less stress and greater joy.

So, if you're looking for solid teaching, great fellowship and a way to get plugged in and get to know some of your sisters in Christ, these studies are custom tailored just for you. Tuesday Mornings at 9:30 (child care provided) and Wednesday nights at 7:00 PM.
