Congrats to the Zobels for 51 1/2 Years!

A little over a year ago, Dick and Carol Zobel took the opportunity to renew their wedding vows on their 50th anniversary. This afternoon, they threw a small party for all the people who helped them stage that celebration and the party after it.

Carol is an accomplished gourmet cook and she and Dick enjoy working in the kitchen together. Carol made an excellent meal for everyone while the Grosses (and Lauren Turner) served the guests in fine catering tradition, dressed in formal attire. It was a great party and Kelly and I were honored to be part of the original celebration and at the dinner today.

Aside from their obvious love for each other and their desire to honor God in their relationship, Dick and Carol have a desire to serve. Dick is one of our Deacons and he is also one of our visitation ministers to those who are in the hospital. Carol, along with Kelly Stull, puts her decorating talents to good use by keeping the sanctuary beautifully decorated in seasonal themes. Both ladies also led the way in the renewal of the townhouse this summer.

Dick and Carol have a wonderful place out near Jeffersonton. Here are a couple of photos of the countryside surrounding their home:
