The Missions Team Is Back!

We got the chance to hear some of the details of the Kentucky Mountain Missions Team's trip today. It was great to see them all come home safely and excited (thank you, Lord!) with awesome tales of God's great provision and protection. This is the kind of thing that fills me with excitement and anticipation as I see the message of "...going out beyond the walls of this church" rise up and bear fruit among us.

I find it so moving and motivating to see our Youth Group and their dedication to these projects. It has even more impact when we hear about how hard our guys worked and how the act of service was met so readily and enthusiastically by our girls. The growth and development of the Youth Group over the last year, under the supervision and encouragement of Brian and Rita Edwards, has been a blessing in every way as we see our kids grow into young men and women who have hearts to serve Our Father in heaven.

The adults blew me away as well. Watching Gordon Oneill step up to the plate and offer his services, seeing Faye Brewster rise up as the leader of the group, hearing Darrell Lipscomb's testimony of God's provision, seeing Audrey Edward's uncompromising commitment to allowing God to have His way, knowing that Dee Gross is always steady, dependable, capable and ready to serve and taking comfort in knowing that Bob Hoke was there as a covering and as a support. These things demonstrate that the body at WBF is healthy, active and vital. Praise God! Mark 5:16 “Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

All this combined to make a great service today. the worship was intimate and moving, the testimonies were edifying, the communion was sweet. I was humbled and happy to be a part of it. The sweet spirit that hovered over the sanctuary throughout both services sent me home invigorated and awestruck by what God is doing. The really great news here is that we all have a part in this. As Darrell said, "It was a team effort all they way! The prayers of those who were at home lifted up the Missions Team and brought blessing from above!" God's hand is moving among us! Don't miss it! Look what happens when we all work and pray together! "And when they had prayed, the place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with boldness." Acts 4:31
